A week or so ago I returned to the blu gum forest for another look around this time in the heart of what passes for a winter in Australia. The views were yet again spectacular and being midweek in winter we saw only one other person on the track and there was no one else at the campsite although there was a partially tame wallaby jumping around the campsite to keep us entertained.
Another good thing was that there were also no leeches to be seen down in the valley for once.
The walk up Perry's lookdown was dispatched in just under an hour then it was time for some tourist shopping in blackheath before the long train trip home.
