Honeymoon part I

Since Adelle got her way with the wedding it was only fair that I got to organise the honeymoon.

Since I had never been to the outback and it was nearly winter it seemed like the logical conclusion, the other option was kakadu and northern queensland.

We flew into Alice Springs which is not a bad town by outback standards, although it pays to be careful when walking around at night.

First up was a visit to the reptile park.

Followed by a quick look in the Alice Springs desert park.
Southern Boobook

The next day we went to see simpsons gap and stanley chasm on the way to glen helen resort, where we pitched the tent in the campground.

Great guns! Was the Thorny Devil a resident of the reptile park? Excellent shot of the Boobook!! If you had chosen Kakadu I can reveal that the flies would have been mosquitoes instead - for a honeymoon I think the outback was an excellent choice, however your interpretation of "fair" might need a revision; you standing casually shaking those dancing legs for barely an hour I would say Adelle had finished paying of after the reptile park!

Yes the thorny devil was a resident of the reptile park. It was a little cold to see many reptiles out in the wild.
The wedding ceremony alone was worth two weeks of hard tramping.
